Recipe for Spinach Balls

What You Need

2 packages frozen spinach 10 ounce 2 cups herb stuffing mix 2 large chopped onions 6 beaten eggs ¾ cup butter or margarine ½ cup parmesan cheese 1 teaspoon garlic salt ½ teaspoon thyme Salt and pepper to taste

How to Make It

Begin preparing this recipe by cooking, draining, and chopping the spinach and then set aside until needed.

Prepare a large baking sheet by lightly coating it with cooking spray and then set aside until needed.

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Using a large mixing bowl you will add the chopped spinach, herb stuffing mix, chopped onions, eggs, butter or margarine, parmesan cheese, garlic salt, thyme, salt and pepper to taste. Mix well to combine all ingredients. Place bowl in the refrigerator to chill for about 1 hour.

When you are ready to prepare the spinach balls, remove the dough from the refrigerator. Using your hands you will shape the balls into bite size pieces and then place them on the prepared baking sheet. Place in the preheated oven to bake for 20 to 25 minutes.

You can serve them immediately or you can use this recipe for make ahead appetizers by following the directions. However, before baking shape the balls and then place them on the baking sheet. Place them in the freezer to chill and then place them in a zipper-lock freezer bag to store until you are ready to prepare them by baking. Of course, you can always store them in the freezer after baking them. This recipe will yield about 40 spinach ball appetizers.
